Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) for Developers
The MCTS for developers is designed to
help technology professionals and employers clearly understand
their specific expertise with the Microsoft .Net 2.0 Framework
and Visual Studio 2005. (Soon to be updated to cover .Net
Framework 3.0/3.5 and Visual Studio 2008).
The MCTS for developers covers three specialisations, namely
web applications, Windows applications and distributed
applications. People who have MCTS certification in development
may also be database professionals or system
administrators.
MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications
This certification is for professionals
who want to demonstrate their skills in the .Net Framework and
web based client applications.
Is this for me?
To give yourself the best chance of gaining this certification,
you need to ensure you have the following knowledge:
• Be able to manage a solution environment using the
Visual Studio 2005 integrated development environment IDE and
tools
• Understand the .NET Framework 2.0 and the Common
Language Runtime
• Be able to program an application using a .NET Framework
2.0 compliant language
• Know how to make assemblies available to other
applications
• Have a good understanding of basic relational database
concepts
• Be able to use basic SQL commands
• Have a good understanding of XML including XML
declaration, elements, attributes, and namespaces
• Be able to explain XML schema concepts

applications is for you.
