UNIX

If your business is using UNIX it’s likely that you’re using several different versions, from different vendors, co-existing side by side. Each of these vendors will have its own training capabilities, often supporting vendor-specific certification programmes.

If your IT professionals require certification then you’ll be encouraging them to follow vendor training, especially at the more advanced level. But what it the main reason for the training is to help your team do their job, and do it well, in a multi-vendor environment?

If that’s the case, then you need to help your people develop skills that are transferable between different versions of UNIX, and – equally important – skills that will allow them to fully appreciate of working in a multi-vendor environment.

QA-IQ’s new generic portfolio is the answer to your UNIX training requirements. We do not focus on specific hardware issues – these are covered best by the vendor. We do not prepare for any specific certification – again, these are best handled by the vendor (take a look at our Novell, Sun and Ubuntu training if that’s what you need).

We help prepare IT professional who need to become proficient in using a UNIX platform in a multi-vendor environment, where invariably the same set of principles and techniques are applied by different UNIX versions to perform essentially the same function.

Courses available include a one-day introduction to UNIX, ideal if you are a decision maker who needs a high-level understanding of this technology. The main multi-vendor UNIX path comprises three 4-day courses, giving an introduction to the operating system for users, scripting language programmers and administrators.

“One of the main strengths of QA-IQ has always been the ability to rapidly respond to technology progress and resulting IT training demands. We are able to achieve this because we have a well established expertise for identifying the common denominator in the underlying IT trends and developments, which we convert into our generic, vendor independent curriculum, known as 'Performance’ courses. Over the years we have witnessed IT professionals choosing our services, because we are able to devise training paths suitable for them and relevant to their business needs. ”
