Improve Configuration Management Skills With New Courses From
QA-IQ Jumpstart available for groundbreaking Novell software
9 August, 2007
QA-IQ is launching ‘Jumpstart’
courses for the revolutionary new Novell Desktop Management
solution. The latest ZENworks Configuration Management (ZCM)
product from Novell is the first to work with Microsoft’s
Active Directory as well as Novell’s own
eDirectory.
Available from August 17, these courses will give network
administrators their first opportunity to understand the
significant benefits of this new product, including improved
user desktop management compatible with Microsoft’s Windows
Vista.
QA-IQ’s Principal Technologist specialising in Novell, Andrew
Mallett, explains; “This is a truly spectacular product, and is
one of the first to benefit from the partnership between Novell
and Microsoft. It will install on to a Windows or Linux-based
system, and with an open directory structure can gain its user
configurations from either Active Directory or eDirectory.
Novell’s configuration management systems can provide a wide
range of imaging, inventory and deployment tools, but it’s
essential that administrators and network managers have the
skills to use them to their best advantage.
“The Jumpstart course will introduce version 10 of ZCM and give
attendees the skills they will need to install the system on
either a Windows or Linux host and configure their directory
integration. Organisations will be able to use the ZCM 10 to
roll-out either Windows XP or Vista installations , and deploy
their application set, as well as remote management and
reporting.”
